Dr. McCurry has worked internationally and in the US for over 40 years in the fields of Teacher Education, Information and Communications Technology in Education, Field Extension Communications and Curriculum and Materials Development. He is a former Fulbright Lecturer (Malawi, 1988 to 1991) and US Peace Corps Volunteer (The Gambia, 1980 to 1983). He has published in the areas of technology and society, technology in teacher education and African educational research. After 18 years working in African educational development, he spent 8 years as a professor of education in the US, directing Masters of Education and electronic portfolio assessment programs in addition to regular teaching, research and advising duties, moving to South Carolina and co-founding Jacaranda Educational Development in 2006. His specialties are in the areas of instructional design and curriculum development, the materials and technology of teaching and learning, qualitative research using visual data (video and photography), application of ethnographic research to organizational assessment and evaluation, and international development education. David worked for 9 years in Online/Distance Education Program Management in higher education, building institutional strategies and vision, faculty development and training programs, course and instructional design support for higher education staff. He is also a working artist and musician. Dr. McCurry currently serves on the board of the Southern Region Faculty and Instructional Development Consortium in the US.
Dr. Mullinix has served as faculty, educator and an educational development consultant to a wide range of higher education institutions, from Research I and regional Masters universities, historically black colleges and universities, liberal arts and community/technical colleges. She has taught undergraduate and graduate level courses in various disciplines (education, counseling/social work & interdisciplinary programs) at six Universities over the last 37 years. Recognized for her innovative approaches to teaching and learning, she has also helped to guide the establishment of two Centers for Teaching and Learning at Monmouth University and at Furman University in the US. Her commitment to engaging and empowering education and contributing to positive social change is demonstrated throughout her 40 years as an educator and in 2008 she co-founded Jacaranda Educational Development, LLC to facilitate sharing this commitment in educational settings in the US and abroad through consultations. Over the years, Bonnie has designed and facilitated over 500 faculty development workshops and sessions, provided invited keynote/plenary addresses, and presented sessions on teaching innovation at professional conferences. She has worked with teams of faculty over multiple years to redesign courses and conduct Scholarship of Teaching and Learning research. Author of over 50 articles, chapters, books, monographs, manuals and training guides since 1981, she has presented over 100 professional papers at national and international conferences.
Alex Akulli, PhD has nearly two decades of progressive experience in program development, client services, project management, and community development. His expertise is in international education, teacher professional development, exporting through international student and scholar recruitment and admissions, US immigration compliance, logistics in global education, global partnerships, and contract negotiations.
Sher Downing, PhD is the CEO/Principal Consultant of Downing EdTech Consulting. Sher serves as an EdTech Strategist who brings clarity to the relationships of technology, education and communication among people. With over thirty-two years' experience in higher education, Downing understands the vendor to client, educator to technical expert relationships and the impact it has to organizations.
Mike Lampe, EdD specializes in curriculum and instructional design, active learning strategies, online teaching and physical classroom design. He has served as a senior instructional designer for large public universities and is committed to providing a personalized educational development experience with his clients.
