Jacaranda Educational Development Services FAQ

Are your services for primary or secondary teachers?

Many of the methods we promote and teach are familiar to elementary or primary and secondary educators but our focus is on higher education (tertiary) teaching in colleges, polytechnics, and universities.

Do you work with whole faculties and departments?

Yes, we can work with individual faculty members or engage entire departments or the institution. Department curriculum reviews are best done with the entire faculty group.

What methods do you employ?

Higher education has grown in the past two decades to include more interactive engagement with students, recognizing findings from modern cognitive and neuroscience and social and emotional learning theories. JED promotes Active Learning, Continuous Assessment, Flipped Classroom and Hybrid Teaching methods, Problem-based and Project-based Learning, among many others.

How long does my work take?

Time involved with various services can vary. Course reviews, for example, will be returned within 48 hours while institutional assessments can take weeks or months to prepare. Our initial conversations will produce an action plan with a timeline. 

Do you work with faculty and institutions in North America?

Yes, we do. However, over the past 20 years many institutions in the US and Canada now have well-developed faculty support centers of their own. Our services are specifically developed to target institutions where modern pedagogical approaches are still innovative and therefore new to the local culture of the institution. We are happy to take your request for services, no matter where in the world you live.
