Research and evaluation

In addition to numeric data and analysis, we use qualitative approaches to understanding how your organization or programs function. Education is, at its core, a human cultural enterprise. Methods derived from the fields of psychology and cultural anthropology offer a more powerful and meaningful way of understanding how your programs function, what their impact is, and how each individual in the organization works to their ultimate potential. 

JED staff are trained in the use of qualitative data analysis (QDA) and technologies. Dr. McCurry has used video and audio field recordings in educational research and teacher training. Dr. Mullinix is an experienced trainer in the use of the NVivo (tm) QDA software applications.
